Royal Cashew

Royal Cashew is located at Plot No. 73 in the Adarsh Industrial Park, inside the Phase-3 GIDC Estate. When you walk inside, the first thing you notice is the smell of the raw cashews. It’s a distinct scent that sticks to your clothes. We have long tables where people sit and sort through the nuts all day. It takes a lot of patience to spot the ones that aren’t quite right. We have stacks of heavy jute bags piled up against the walls, filled to the top. The floors are kept as clean as we can manage, but there’s always a bit of dust from the shells. The GIDC estate is always buzzing with activity, so there is a constant sound of traffic outside our gate. We have a small crew and most of us have been here since the beginning. We don’t have a lot of meetings or fancy presentations. We just show up, get the sorting done, and make sure the bags are ready for the trucks. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait a bit, but we usually just keep going by the light from the windows. It’s a simple process but it keeps everyone busy. We’ve got a small area in the back where we keep our tea kettle and take our breaks. It’s a decent place to work and we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the industrial park over the many years we have been here.
