Khawzawl Beekeeping Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are located over in Vengtharchamphai at house number 15 in Khawzawl. Our main focus here is beekeeping and it has been that way for a while. It started out with just a couple of hives in the backyard and then more people from the area wanted to join in. Beekeeping is very different from regular farming because you have to really pay attention to the bees and the flowers. We spend a lot of our time checking the wooden boxes and making sure the queens are healthy and active. Khawzawl is a really good place for this because we have so many natural trees and flowers around us. We do not use any big machines for our work. It is mostly just us using our veils and the smokers to keep the bees calm. Sometimes we get stung anyway but that is just part of the daily job. We collect the honey only when the time is right and the hives are full. It mostly depends on what is blooming in the hills nearby. The company was formed so we could help each other out with the expensive equipment and the selling part. We keep all our gear at the Vengtharchamphai address. It is a very practical setup for us. Local people know us as the bee people in this part of town. We do not have a shop with bright signs. It is just a house where we handle the honey.
