National Electric & Engineering Works

Our workshop is right in Village Jansath, not far from the bus stand. It’s easy to find us because we are so close to where the buses pull in. We do all sorts of electrical work and some engineering stuff too. In a village like this, you have to be able to fix a bit of everything. Farmers bring in their motors when they burn out. We spend a lot of time rewinding coils and testing circuits. It’s dusty work, especially in the summer. The District of Muzzaffer gets quite hot, so we have a couple of fans going all day. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just have to sit and wait. We’ve been here for many years. My father started this place, and I took over after I finished school. We have a couple of guys from the village who work with us. They are good workers and know the locals. We don't have a computer or anything like that for the books. We just use a ledger and a pen. It works for us. Most of our tools are old but they still do the job. People trust us because they've known us forever. We don't charge much, just enough to keep the lights on and the families fed. It's a quiet life for the most part, except when the big machines are running. We like being part of the village and helping folks out with their repairs. It feels good when a machine finally starts humming again.
