You can find us at 376/1 Rastipura in Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh. This is the office for Bhusahn Power & Steel Ltd. The area of Rastipura has a very traditional feel to it, and our building fits right in. It’s a simple structure with a heavy door that we keep open during the day to let some air in. Inside, there are a few desks and chairs that have seen better days. We have piles of papers related to the steel business everywhere you look. It’s not the most organized place, but we know where everything is. Burhanpur can get quite hot, so the afternoons are usually slow while everyone stays in the shade. We deal with a lot of local transporters and laborers, so there is always someone coming in or out. The language we use is a mix of Hindi and the local dialect. We don’t have a fancy website or anything like that; people usually just know us from being in the neighborhood for so long. We spend our time checking weights and measures and making sure the billing is correct. Sometimes the accounting takes a long time because we still do a lot of things by hand in our books. It’s a very manual process, but it’s how we’ve always done it here. We close up around sunset and head home, ready to do the same thing again the next morning when the sun comes up.
