Panjab Flori Farm

Panjab Flori Farm is over at No. 152 in Sector 125, Mohali. We grow flowers and plants right here on the property. It’s a lot of dirt under the fingernails every day. We wake up when the sun comes up to water everything before it gets dry. We have rows of different blooms depending on the season. It’s not a big corporate operation, just a family-run farm. We spend most of our time in the greenhouses or out in the fields weeding. People from Mohali come by to pick up bunches for their homes or for events. We don't have a delivery truck, so folks usually just stop their cars at our gate. Sometimes we have a surplus of roses or marigolds, and the smell is really something. We deal with the bugs and the weather just like any other farmer. Some years are better than others. Sector 125 has changed a lot with new buildings, but we kept our bit of land for the flowers. We use simple tools and traditional ways of planting. It’s hard work on the back, but seeing the colors change makes it worth it. We don't use fancy labels. We just wrap the flowers in old newspapers and hand them over. It’s honest work. If you need a plant for your porch, you just walk in and ask. We are usually around the potting shed.
