New Hardware Stores

You can find New Hardware Stores right in the middle of Fatak Bazar in Kharagpur. We are situated very close to the Vijya Bank, which makes it easy for folks to explain where we are. The bazar is always crowded and noisy, but that’s just the way things are here. We’ve been in this same spot for quite a while. The shelves are packed with all sorts of bits and pieces—nails, tools, hinges, you name it. It might look a bit messy to a stranger, but we know exactly which bin holds what. We aren't trying to be a big modern store. We still use the same old wooden counter we've had since the start. People from all over Kharagpur come in looking for small things to fix their houses. We spend a lot of time digging through boxes to find that one specific screw someone needs. It’s a lot of standing around and talking to neighbors. Sometimes the rain leaks a little near the back door during the monsoon, but we put a bucket down and keep going. We don’t have any slick advertisements. People just know us because we’ve been here in the bazar for years. It’s hard work, and the dust from the street gets on everything, but we like being part of the local market life. It’s just a regular hardware shop for regular people. We usually close for a short lunch break when the sun is highest.
