Iit, Kharagpur

This office is the Iit, Kharagpur branch located within the Ncaer building in New Delhi. Even though the main campus is far away in West Bengal, we have this spot here to handle our research and administrative work in the capital. The Ncaer building is a busy place, and we are just one part of it. Our rooms are filled with papers, research journals, and data sets. It’s not a place that’s been designed to look pretty. It’s designed for work. We have a lot of people coming in and out for meetings and discussions. We don't have a lot of fancy furniture. Most of our desks are piled high with documents that we are currently working on. It’s a very academic environment, which means it’s a bit messy but very productive. We don't have a marketing team or anyone trying to sell a certain image. We just focus on the studies and the data we are collecting. Delhi is a fast-paced city, and sometimes that energy flows into the office, but mostly we just try to keep things quiet so we can think. We drink a lot of tea while we go over the numbers. It’s a very basic, functional workspace for people who are serious about their research. We just do our part for the institute from here in New Delhi, day in and day out.
