Shree Shyam Associates

Shree Shyam Associates is located right in the middle of Chandani Chowk at Gole Bazar. If you know the area, you know how crowded it gets. There’s a constant stream of people and rickshaws going past our door. It’s a very old part of town, and our building has that weathered look to it. We don't have much space, just a front room and a small area in the back. It’s usually filled with papers and ledgers. We do a lot of our work by hand still, even though there’s a computer in the corner. It just feels easier that way for some things. The market noise is constant, but after a while, you just stop hearing it. We drink a lot of tea from the stall across the street. They know our order by heart now. People drop in all day long just to ask a quick question or leave a message. We don't have any formal meetings; we just talk over the desks. Sometimes the power cuts out and we have to open the doors wide to get some light and air. It gets hot in the summer, and the ceiling fan just moves the warm air around. We’ve been here for years, and we know most of the other shop owners. It’s a community, even if it’s a bit chaotic.
