Syal Art Press

Our shop, Syal Art Press, is right in the middle of Main Bazar in Ludhiana. We are located very close to the Post Office, so there's always a lot of noise and people moving around outside our door. Ludhiana is a busy place, and the bazar is the heart of it all. Inside the press, it’s a bit different. It smells like paper and cleaning fluid most of the time. We've been here for years, and the walls show the age of the business. We handle a lot of commercial work for the other shops in the bazar. It’s mostly things like labels, forms, and business cards. We don't have a marketing department or anything like that. It’s just us and the presses. The machines are loud, and you often have to shout to be heard over the rhythm of the rollers. We don't mind the noise. It’s the sound of work getting done. Sometimes the floor is covered in paper trimmings by the afternoon. We clean up at the end of the day, but it starts all over again the next morning. It’s a bit chaotic, but we know where every tool is kept. People come in with all sorts of requests. Some are easy, while some make us scratch our heads and try different things. We just try to find a way to make it work. Living and working in the Main Bazar means you see everything. It’s a lively spot.
