Shellyz Boutique

Shellyz Boutique is run out of House Number 258 in Ward 17. It’s right on Shivpuri Lane. It’s basically a part of the house we turned into a shop. We started small, just one room, and then it kind of grew over the years. We have some mannequins in the window and a few mirrors scattered around. It’s not like those big malls you see in the city. Here, you might find a cat sleeping on a chair or hear the kitchen noise from the back of the house. We do a lot of sewing and alterations right here. There’s always thread on the floor no matter how much we sweep. My sister does most of the stitching while I talk to the customers. We don't have a big sign, just a small board outside the front gate. Most people know where we are because we’ve lived in this neighborhood forever. The lighting is a bit yellow, but it makes the place feel cozy. We don't really do any marketing. People just come by when they need a suit fixed or a new dress for a wedding. Sometimes we have tea with the customers if it’s a slow afternoon and the weather is nice. It’s just a small family thing we do. We try to stay organized, but with all the fabric rolls, it’s hard. We just take it as it comes and try to stay on top of the orders.
