Ashoka Paint

You can find us on Lalheri Road in Jagat Colony. We are right across from Street No 4 and near the supermarkets on the Chandigarh Road. It’s a good spot because people come by for their groceries and then realize they need some paint for their house. The shop is full of color charts and big mixing machines. I have been running Ashoka Paint for a long time. My clothes always have little speckles of different colors on them. It’s just the way it is. We have a lot of locals who stop in just to chat about what color they should paint their front door. I usually tell them what I think looks good but everyone has their own taste. The shelves are packed with tins of all sizes. Sometimes it’s hard to find the exact brush someone wants but we eventually dig it out from the back. The sidewalk out front is usually cluttered with empty crates and some samples we’ve painted on pieces of wood. It gets busy on the weekends when people are off work and trying to do their home repairs. My wife comes in sometimes to help with the accounts while I handle the heavy lifting of the buckets. It’s a simple life and the neighborhood is friendly. We know most of the people who walk past every day. We keep the door open even when it is a bit cold out to let the paint smells escape.
