Our office is located right behind the Badi Masjid at Maulana Azad Chowk in Sendhwa. The address is officially Old No-12/14/3031, which is what you will see on our papers, but most people just find us by looking for the masjid. It is a busy part of town with a lot of noise and activity, which we have grown used to over the years. We have been operating the Vidhya Rise Welfare Foundation from this spot because it is where people know to find us. The building is older and has its quirks, like the occasional leaky pipe or a door that sticks when it rains, but it serves us well. We do not have a fancy reception area or air conditioning in every room. It is just a practical space where we can sit down and do the work that needs doing. We spend a lot of time talking to local residents and trying to figure out how to help with various welfare issues. It is not a high-tech operation; we still use a lot of paper and keep everything in physical folders. Our staff is small, and we all pitch in with everything from cleaning to accounting. Being in Sendhwa means we are close to the people we serve, and that is what matters to us. We do not need a polished image to do our jobs. We just need a desk and a bit of quiet every now and then.
