Surya Ice Cream Industry

Our little industry is located at House No: 7-10/2 in Sai Prabhat Nagar. This is in the Tedathanda area of Khammam Rural. We aren't in the main city, which actually makes it easier for us to have enough space for our production. We make the ice cream right here on the premises. It is a small-scale operation, mostly just a few of us working together. We have the machines for mixing and the large freezing rooms for storage. Every day we start early to get the batches ready for delivery. We supply to several small vendors and shops in the surrounding villages. The roads out here can be a bit bumpy, so we have to be careful when we are transporting the goods. It’s a lot of responsibility to make sure everything stays frozen until it reaches the customer. We don't have a big marketing budget or a fancy office. We just focus on making good ice cream that people in Khammam Rural enjoy eating. It’s hard work and the summers are especially long and busy for us. We spend a lot of time maintaining the equipment because if something breaks, it’s a big problem. We’ve been at this address for several years and have slowly built up our little business. It’s a practical way to earn a living and we take it one day at a time. It’s just us doing our thing in Sai Prabhat Nagar.
