Sri Venkateswara Wood Works

Our workshop is located in Medara Basthi, right in Kothagudem town. If you come by, you’ll probably hear the sound of saws and see wood shavings everywhere on the floor. It’s a messy place, but that is how a real wood works shop looks. We spend most of our days measuring, cutting, and putting pieces together. We have been in Khammam district for a while, just handling whatever jobs come our way. People bring in their ideas for furniture or frames, and we try to make them as best as we can with the wood we have. It is hard work and our hands are usually dusty by the end of the shift. We don't use high-end machines for everything; a lot of it is just manual labor and paying attention to the wood grain. Sometimes a project takes longer than expected because we want to get the joints right. We are not a big factory. It’s just a small setup at D. No. 7-7-86 where we take pride in the stuff we build. Sometimes the local weather makes the wood act up, so we have to be careful with how we store things. Neighbors often drop by to see what we are making. We don't have a fancy showroom, just the workspace where all the actual building happens. It is honest work, and we like seeing a finished piece head out to a customer’s home. It keeps us going in this trade.
