Sri Rama Varmi Compost

We run Sri Rama Varmi Compost out of Gundalathanda Village in Khammam Rural. The address is H. No. 1-171, right where the fields start to open up. We spend most of our time working with the worms and the organic waste to make the compost. It's a slow process, and you can't really rush nature no matter how much you want to. We started this because we saw a need for better soil stuff for the local farmers around here. It is a bit smelly sometimes, but you get used to it after a week or two. We have several pits going at once in the backyard. The village is quiet, which is nice for this kind of work. We aren't trying to be some massive factory or anything like that. We just want to make decent compost for the people living nearby. Sometimes the moisture levels get off and we have to adjust things by hand. It’s a lot of manual labor, turning the piles and checking the beds every day. My family helps out when things get really busy during the main planting season. Khammam has good earth, and we just want to help keep it that way for the next generation. We don't have a fancy storefront, just the beds and the bags ready to go. People usually just drive up to the house to get what they need. It’s a simple life and we like being outdoors.
