Sccl Mines Hospital

Living and working around the Kothagudem Collieries means you get used to the dust and the sound of the mines. Our place is the Sccl Mines Hospital here in the Khammam District. It is a big area and there is always something happening. The workers come in after their shifts. You can see the coal dust on their clothes sometimes. We have been part of this landscape for a long time. It isn't like those hospitals in the big cities with glass walls. This is more of a practical place. The fans are always spinning to keep the air moving because it gets really hot in this part of the country. People know where to find us. We sit near the collieries and wait for the shift changes. The roads around here are mostly used by heavy trucks. Sometimes the whole building feels like it vibrates when the work at the mines is heavy. We have our routines. We check the supplies. We talk to the families who live nearby. It is a community where everyone knows everyone else’s business. We don’t have any fancy decorations on the walls. It’s just paint and some old posters about health stuff. We just stay busy with the local folks from Kothagudem. It’s a hard-working town and we just fit into that rhythm. The sun goes down over the mines and we finish up our paperwork for the day.
