Mamatha Genaral And Super Speciality Hospital Lab Technician

Working as a lab technician here in Khammam keeps me pretty occupied throughout the week. The hospital is located in Giri Prasad Nagar, which is a part of town that has seen a lot of changes lately. My day usually starts with checking the chemicals and making sure the microscopes are wiped down. We get people coming in from the surrounding villages quite early in the morning. They often bring their test papers from the doctors at the Super Speciality wing. I spend most of my hours handling glass tubes and typing results into the old computer system we have. The lab is tucked away in a corner of the building where it is a bit quieter than the main hallways. Sometimes the air feels a bit heavy with the smell of cleaning fluids, but you get used to it after a few days. Giri Prasad Nagar is a lively place, and I usually grab tea from the stall just outside the main gate during my afternoon break. It is not an easy job because you have to be very careful with every single sample. If I make a mistake, it affects someone's treatment, so I take my time. The hospital stays busy until late in the evening. By the time I pack up my things, the streetlights in Khammam are already on. It is a simple life of science and work in our small corner of the world. We just try to get the results right for everyone who walks in.
