Mamata General Hospital. Khammam

This Mamata General Hospital branch is out in Khammam, right on the Warangal X Road. We sit just opposite the Bharat Motors shop, which is a good landmark if you’re trying to find us for the first time. The road out front is almost always busy with trucks and buses passing through, so there’s a lot of dust and noise throughout the day. We are a general hospital, so we handle a wide range of basic medical issues. The building is a bit of a trek for some, but it’s a necessary spot for this side of town. I usually spend my time at the front desk or checking on the supplies in the storage room. We have a few wards for people who need to stay overnight, but mostly it’s people coming in for quick visits and then heading back home. The interior is pretty plain. We use simple fans instead of central air because it’s easier to maintain. Some days are much busier than others, especially when there’s a local flu going around. We just try to keep up with the walk-ins and keep the paperwork straight. It’s a straightforward medical facility without any bells or whistles. We’ve been here long enough that people just trust us to be open when they need something looked at. It’s just a regular part of the local community.
