Santoshi Exports

Santoshi Exports is situated in the Hans Cotton Compound. It’s an old place with high walls and a big gate at the front. The compound has a lot of history and you can tell by the way the bricks look. We have a large space here because we need it for all the cotton and the packing boxes. It gets quite breezy in the open areas, which is nice during the summer months. We spend most of our time in the warehouse part, moving things around and labeling the crates. The floor is a bit uneven, so you have to be careful where you walk. There are a few other companies in the Hans Cotton Compound, so there is always some activity near the gates. We have a small office tucked in the corner where we keep the computer and the files. It’s mostly quiet except for the sound of the birds that nest in the rafters. We don’t have any fancy furniture, just old wooden chairs and desks that have been here since we started. Sometimes we have tea brought in from the stall outside the compound gates. It’s a very practical place. We don't worry about how it looks to outsiders because it's a working compound. We just focus on getting the exports ready and making sure the trucks are loaded correctly. It’s honest work and we like the routine of it. The sun goes down behind the old warehouse at the end of the day and that's when we finally lock up.
