Phate Daal Mill

Our mill is located right in Vrundavan Nagar, just past G S College in the Wadi Post area of Khamgaon. It’s easy to find if you’re heading towards the Swami Samarth Sanku because we’re right across from it. Running a daal mill means there is always a lot of noise from the machines grinding away. It’s a steady sound that you get used to after a few days. We spend most of our time making sure the pulses are cleaned and processed right. The dust from the husks can get everywhere, so we are always sweeping up. It’s a local business, so we know a lot of the people who come by. Some bring their own grain, others buy what we have ready. The building itself is older, and we’ve had to patch the roof a couple of times. It’s not a showroom; it’s a working mill. We have bags stacked up almost to the ceiling sometimes. My family has been involved with this kind of work for a long time. It’s honest work that keeps us busy from morning until evening. We don’t have a website or anything. Most people just walk in or call the landline if they need a large order. Khamgaon is a busy place for agriculture, so there is always something moving. We just keep the machines running and try to stay ahead of the orders. It’s just us here, working the machines and loading the trucks as they come.
