Shiv Shankar Hardware

Shiv Shankar Hardware is our shop in Bakhira Bazar, which is in Sant Kabir Nagar. If you know the bazaar, you know it is a place that is always full of noise, smoke, and people looking for deals. We have been here for a very long time, selling all kinds of tools, nails, and metal parts. The shop is always a bit dark and smells like iron and oil, which is exactly how a hardware store should be. We don't have a lot of space, so we have to hang things from the ceiling and stack boxes high against the walls. It can be a bit of a maze if you don't know where things are kept. We spend our days helping local workers find the right size of screw or a specific tool they need for a job. Our clothes are usually a bit dirty from handling the stock, but we don't mind. We are just regular people working in the bazaar. We don't have any big missions or fancy slogans. We just open up in the morning and stay until the sun goes down and the bazaar starts to quiet down. Sometimes we have a little stove in the back to make some tea when it gets cold. Sant Kabir Nagar is our home and we are proud to be a part of the local community. We don't need any polished marketing to tell people we are here. They just see the piles of hardware and know it’s us. It is a simple life and it keeps us busy.
