Khajuraho Foundation

We are based out of Shivram Mishrabhargawa Bhawan in Khajuraho. It's a small place in the Grameen area. A few of us started this foundation because we saw things that needed doing right here at home. We don't have a big office or anything fancy. Most days you'll find us just talking to neighbors or trying to figure out how to help with local issues. It isn't always easy, and sometimes we're not even sure where to start, but we just keep at it. People know where to find us. We've been here a while now. The building is old but it works for what we need. We handle things as they come up. If someone has a problem in the village, they usually stop by and have a seat. There's no formal schedule or big corporate meetings. We just drink some tea and talk. It feels right to work this way, staying close to the roots of Khajuraho. Sometimes we worry we aren't doing enough, but then another day starts and we get back to it. That's just how life is here. We aren't trying to change the whole world, just our little corner of it. It’s quiet work, mostly. We don't put up posters or anything. People just know us by name and they know where the Bhawan is. That's plenty for us. We aren't interested in being famous or anything, we just want to help the folks who live right next door to us in the village.
