Thakur Ji Traders

If you head out to Ward No.2 in Dumri, you’ll find us tucked away near the Usrah Bridge. It’s a bit of a trek for some, but in Beldour, everyone knows the bridge area well. Thakur Ji Traders isn’t a huge operation. It’s just a practical space where we keep our goods and handle the daily trade. The area can get a bit muddy when the river rises or during the monsoon, but we’ve managed to keep things dry inside. We don’t have a lot of bells and whistles here. It’s mostly just metal shelves and some old fans to keep the air moving during the summer. Being near the bridge means we see a lot of people passing through on their way to other parts of town. We’ve had the same neighbors for years, and we all kind of look out for each other. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just sit and wait it out with a cup of tea. It’s a slow pace of life compared to the city, but we like it that way. We don’t spend much time on computers; we prefer writing things down and talking to people face to face. It feels more real that way. We just want to make sure the locals can get what they need without having to travel too far. It’s a small life in a small ward, but it suits us fine.
