Out here in Vill Shekhpra, things move at their own pace. We have been set up in Khagaria for some time now, working out of this spot in Mathrapur. It is a quiet area mostly. We spend our days meeting with the local women who are trying to figure out their finances. It is not a big city office with glass walls or anything. We have a simple building where people can come sit and talk. Sometimes the roads are a bit rough to get here, especially when it rains, but we are always around. We deal with a lot of small details every day. It is mostly about helping folks understand how to manage what they have. We do not use big words or complicated charts. We just sit down together and go over things. The community knows us well by now. We see the same faces at the market and in the village. It is a practical way to live and work. We do not have a big staff, just a few of us who know the area and the people. We keep the paperwork in order and try to be helpful whenever someone walks through the door. It is rewarding work, even if it is just small steps every day. Being in Bihar, you learn to be patient with how things go. We are just part of the neighborhood here, doing what we can for the women in the district. It is plain and simple work, and that is how we like it.
