Our office is tucked right into the Barbil Main Market. If you walk past Hotel Smitha and look toward Shiv Lal Park, you’ll find us easily enough. Being in the middle of the market means it’s always noisy outside with people shouting and trucks moving through. We’ve grown used to the sound of the traffic and the smell of the food stalls nearby. Inside, it’s a bit calmer, though we usually have the radio playing low in the background. We spend most of our time at the desks, keeping track of things and making sure the files are in order. It’s not a large space, but it fits everything we need for the day-to-day work we do. During lunch breaks, someone usually heads over to the park for a bit of fresh air or grabs a quick snack from one of the vendors. We’ve had this spot for years and the neighbors know us well. Sometimes the rain makes the market road a bit messy, but that’s just how it is in Barbil. We don’t really worry about having a polished look. We just focus on the stacks of paper on our desks and getting the jobs done. It’s a busy environment, but we like being where the action is. Most days are long, but we’ve got a good rhythm going here in the heart of the town.
