Patabeda Iron Ore Mines(Open Cast)

Working out here at the Patabeda Iron Ore Mines is a whole different world compared to being in a city like Bokaro. This is an open cast site, so everything is out in the open air, which means we are constantly dealing with the dust and the sun. Sri R.K.P Sinha and M.G Mohanty have been involved with these minerals in Jharkhand for quite a while. When you walk around the site, you see the massive trucks moving red earth and the heavy machinery working the ground. It’s loud and it’s messy, but that’s just how mining is. We don't have a quiet office with air conditioning out here; most of the time we are in the middle of the pit or standing near the equipment. The red dust gets into everything, your clothes, your hair, even your lunch if you aren't careful. It’s a tough environment, especially when the monsoon rains come and turn everything into thick mud that sticks to your boots. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing every day. There isn't any room for polished talk or corporate nonsense when you're dealing with tons of rock and iron ore. It’s about the people on the ground getting the job done. We’ve all become used to the rhythm of the mine, the sirens, and the sound of the crushers. It is honest work, and we don't pretend it is anything else.
