Orissa Bengal Transport Company is based right on the Main Road in Barbil. If you know the area, you know it's always busy with trucks coming from Rungta Mines Ltd. Our office is right there with them, tucked into the Siv Sankar Sandil building. It’s a bit dusty outside most days because of all the mining activity in Keonjhar, but that’s just how it is here. We’ve been operating out of this spot for a while now. It’s not a fancy office with glass walls or anything. We have a few desks, some old files, and a lot of logbooks. The power goes out sometimes, so we just wait it out and get back to work when it comes back on. Siv Sankar Sandil is the person who keeps things moving. The sun gets really hot in this part of Orissa, but we keep the fans going and stay busy. We handle a lot of the transport stuff between here and Bengal. Most of our day is spent talking to drivers or checking on where a load is. People stop by all the time asking for directions or wanting to know about a shipment. We don't do any big advertising.
