Kusum Powermet

We are based up in Kiriburu, which is right on the border of Orissa and Jharkhand. If you’ve ever been up here, you know it’s a mining town through and through. Our work at Kusum Powermet is tied to the industry here. It’s not like working in a big city; things move a bit differently in the hills. We spend a lot of time dealing with technical specs and industrial supplies. The air up here is different, and the red dust from the mines gets on everything if you aren't careful. Our office is functional, meant for work rather than looking pretty. We deal with people who need parts or have questions about the power equipment we handle. It’s a lot of practical talk and looking at blueprints or order forms. We don't have a lot of walk-in traffic unless it’s someone from one of the local sites needing something urgently. We keep our head down and do the work. Living and working in Kiriburu means you have to be a bit tough because of the remote location and the weather, but we’ve been here long enough that it’s just home. We aren't doing anything flashy, just keeping the operations running like they should. Some days the logistics are a nightmare because of the winding roads, but we always find a way to get the supplies through to the site.
