We are based at the Brahmanipal site, specifically over at the Tisco Ferro Alloys Plant. Our team works out of the Deepak Mishra Quality Control Laboratory. It is a busy environment with all the industrial noise and heat that comes from a plant like this. We spend most of our time testing samples and making sure the quality is where it needs to be. It’s not a shiny corporate office. It is a practical lab where we deal with chemicals and raw materials every day. Most of us have lived in Keonjhar for a long time. We know the machines well and we know when a test result looks a bit off. Sometimes the equipment breaks down or the power fluctuates, but we just fix it and keep going. Life out here in Orissa is quiet once the shift ends. We just focus on the task at hand and try to get through the paperwork. There is a lot of logging and documenting to do. The lab isn't anything special to look at, but it has everything we need to get the job done. We handle the quality control stuff so the rest of the plant can keep moving forward. It involves a lot of measuring and sitting at benches. If you visit the plant, you will see us there in our lab coats. It is just our regular daily routine and we keep at it.
