Foundation For Msme Clusters

Our work is based out of Fakirpur in the Keonjhar district of Orissa. You can find us where Dr. Sitakanta Sethy is, right at the post office area. This part of the country is very different from the big cities. We spend a lot of time traveling around the local clusters and meeting people who run small businesses. The roads around here can be a bit rough, especially when the monsoon hits. Our office is a simple room with basic furniture and a lot of folders. We don't have a big staff, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything. From organizing files to visiting a local workshop, the days are never quite the same. We focus on the MSME groups in this region because that’s where we are located. It’s not about having a grand plan; it’s about the daily interactions with the people in Fakirpur and the surrounding villages. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing department. We just have a desk, a phone, and some chairs for when people come by to talk. Sometimes we sit and have tea while we discuss what needs to happen next for a particular project. It’s slow work, and it requires a lot of patience. We're just trying to be useful in our corner of Orissa and keep things moving for the local clusters we work with. It's not glamorous, but it is important to us.
