Bhawani Store

Bhawani Store is tucked away in Ramram Gali, inside the New Market area of Keonjhar. It is a pretty small shop, but we try to keep a bit of everything that people might need for their homes. The shelves are usually quite full, and sometimes it can be a bit of a squeeze to get through the aisles, especially when we are restocking. We’ve been here for quite some time now, and we know many of our customers by their first names. It’s a busy street with people constantly walking past the door. We open early every morning to catch the early shoppers and don't close until late at night. It is a family business, and we all take turns behind the counter. We don't have a big advertising budget or a fancy website. We just rely on the fact that people know we are here and that we carry what they need. Sometimes the rain comes into the front of the shop during the monsoon, so we have to move the bags of rice and flour back. It is just a regular local store. We don't use any corporate language or try to act bigger than we are. We are just part of the local community in Keonjhar. People come in to buy their tea or sugar and usually stay for a quick chat about the weather or the news. It’s a simple life but we enjoy being here.
