Kendrapara is where we are based, specifically in Kansar. If you are looking for us, we are located at Baishnab Charan Swain’s place. It’s a quiet area most of the time, though the morning birds can be quite loud when we first open up. Being in Orissa, the heat gets to be a lot in the summer months, so we keep the windows open to catch whatever breeze comes through. We handle our daily tasks right here in this house. It’s not a big corporate office with glass walls or anything like that. It’s just a room with some desks and a couple of chairs that have seen better days. We spend a lot of time talking to folks from the village who walk past. Our address is a bit tucked away, so the postman usually has to stop at the tea stall to ask where we are exactly. We have been here long enough that most people know where to point him. There is a specific rhythm to the day here. We start early, take a long break when the sun is at its highest, and then finish up as the light starts to fade. It is a practical way of doing things. We don't worry too much about having everything looking perfect. As long as the work gets finished and the tea is hot, we are satisfied with how things are moving along here.
