Larsen & Toubro

Out here at Ujuni, in the Po Taruan area via Sainkul, it’s a bit different than the big city offices. We’re in the Keonjhar district of Orissa, pin 758043. It’s a quiet spot for a Larsen & Toubro office, but that’s because we’re close to where the actual work happens. The surroundings are mostly rural, and the roads can be a bit rough depending on the season. Our office isn't anything special to look at. It’s a basic building that keeps the rain out and gives us a place to keep our equipment and records. We don't have many visitors out this way, so we don't worry too much about having a fancy front desk. It’s mostly just the staff coming and going, heading out to the sites or coming back to write up reports. We deal with a lot of dust and the occasional power cut, but you get used to it. The team here is small, and we all have to do a bit of everything. There isn't much room for corporate ego in a place like this. We focus on the practical side of engineering and making sure things stay on track. It’s a simple life, really. We start early, work hard, and try to finish before it gets too dark to see the road home. It's just a small branch trying to do its part in a big company.
