We are based out in a place called Kampagarh, which you reach via Indupur in the Jajpur district of Orissa. It is a bit far out, but that is where we operate from. Our days are never the same because events and promotions mean we are always on the move. One day we are loading a truck with banners and speakers, and the next we are out in a small town setting up a stage. It is a lot of physical work, often under the sun. We have a small office here at the post office address, but we aren't in it as much as we are out on the road. The roads around Jajpur can be rough, so our vehicles take a beating. We deal with a lot of local people and sometimes have to figure things out on the fly when something breaks or the weather turns bad. It is a lot of coordination with phone calls going back and forth all day. We aren't a big city agency with fancy suits. We are the ones on the ground getting our hands dirty and making sure the posters are straight. Sometimes we stay in small guest houses near the event sites. It’s a tiring job and the pay is sometimes late, but we keep doing it because it’s what we know. Life in rural Orissa has its own pace, and we just fit into that while getting the work done. It is just a matter of showing up and making things happen.
