Baba Bani Shop

We are out here in Village Bharatpur. Our shop is sitting quite close to the Jamara Temple. It is a quiet area most of the time, except when there is a festival or a big event happening at the temple. We handle the daily needs for the people living in the village and the other spots nearby in Kendrapara. The post office is not too far away from us either. It’s a very basic building, nothing special to look at, but it does what it needs to do. We spend a lot of our day just sitting and waiting for customers to drop by and chat. In a small village, news travels very fast, so we usually know exactly what is going on with everyone. The shop has been in this same spot for a long time now. We have to bring in all our supplies from the main town, which can take a lot of time on these roads. Sometimes the heavy rain makes it really hard to get things delivered when we need them. Inside the shop, we have rows of things that families use every single day. We don't try to do anything too complicated or fancy here. It is just about having what people are looking for. The temple bells ring early in the morning and again in the evening, and it is a nice sound to have while we work. Most of the people who come in are our own neighbors and we talk about the weather.
