Chouhan Bags

Chouhan Bags has its shop right in the Sadar Bazar area of Kekri, not too far from the Patwar Bhawan. If you are familiar with Ajmer, you know how crowded and lively the market can be, especially in the middle of the day. We have bags hanging from the ceiling and stacked on every shelf we could fit in the shop. It is a small place, but we manage to keep a lot of variety, from school bags for the kids to bigger travel bags for people heading out of town. The street outside is narrow, so you hear the bells of the cycles and the voices of all the other shopkeepers all day long. I usually sit near the front to talk to anyone who stops by. It gets really hot in the summer, so we have a small fan that tries its best to keep us cool. People from the nearby villages often come into the bazar for their shopping, and they stop in to see if we have anything new. We don't do much fancy advertising; we just put some of our bags out on the pavement so people can see them as they walk toward Patwar Bhawan. It is a simple life here in the bazar. We open up early, sweep the floor, and wait for the morning rush to start. It’s just how we have always done things. Sometimes we sit outside on a stool when the shop gets too stuffy. It’s a good way to see who is coming.
