Baba Tent House & Events

Our place is at 8-61 in Dammaiguda Village, right in the Keesara area. We have been doing this tent work for a long time. It is a lot of heavy lifting, carrying bamboo poles and big bundles of cloth. When there is a wedding or a festival in the village, we are the ones out there in the sun setting everything up. The fabric for the tents needs washing quite often because it gets dusty being outside all the time. We have stacks of plastic chairs that we keep piled up in the corner of the yard. Sometimes they get a bit scratched, but they still work fine for people to sit on. We also have some old lights and sound boxes for small events. It is not like those big city event companies with fancy brochures. We just talk to the family, figure out how many people are coming, and bring the gear over on a small truck. Sometimes the poles are a bit crooked, but we make it look nice once the cloth is draped over. We work late into the night many times, especially during the marriage season. It is tiring but it is good to see the whole village come together under the tents we put up. When the season ends, we spend our time fixing the torn fabrics and painting the poles again for the next round of celebrations. The neighbors usually help us load the truck when we are in a hurry.
