Priyanka Eye Hospital

Out here in Vavvakkavu PO, we set up Priyanka Eye Hospital to help the community see a bit better. It’s a quiet area mostly, and our building fits right in. We spend a lot of time checking vision and helping people pick out frames that don't cost too much. Eyes are tricky things, and as people get older around here, they start needing more help. We see a lot of cataracts and blurry vision cases every single day. The waiting area has enough chairs, though it gets full when the bus drops people off from the surrounding villages. We don't have a giant staff, just enough of us to keep things moving. We try to be honest about what we can do and what might need a specialist in the bigger city. People in Vavvakkavu seem to appreciate that we are right here and they don't have to travel for hours just for an eye test. We keep the mirrors clean and the testing charts on the wall. It’s a practical place. No one wears fancy suits here, we just wear our white coats and get to work. If someone breaks their glasses, they usually come running to us first. We’ve become a part of the daily life in Vavvakkavu PO over the years. It’s just how things are around here and we like it.
