Being in an avas samiti means we are tucked away in a residential area, which is nice because it stays a bit quieter than the main markets. Our office is a straightforward place. We have a small room where we keep all the records and do the daily accounting. It isn't a large operation with dozens of staff members. Usually, it is just a couple of us handling the documents and talking to whoever drops by. The walls are plain and we have some old filing cabinets that have seen better days, but they do the job just fine. We start our day early, making sure the place is clean before the first visitors arrive. Kaushambi is a decent area to work in. We see the same faces walking by every morning, and that gives the place a friendly feel. We don't spend money on big advertisements or fancy signs. We just have our name on the door and we get on with the work. Dealing with the Nidhi paperwork takes up most of our time, and we try to be as careful as possible with every entry.
