Anoop Brick Field

Our business, Anoop Brick Field, is out in Village Bairampur. We are located right in the village, which is part of the Sarsawan Taluka in this district. Making bricks is what we know. It's a seasonal kind of job mostly, depending on the weather and the sun to dry out the clay. We have a lot of open space where the bricks sit in rows. It’s quiet out here compared to the city, but the work is still very physical and tiring. We use the local soil and follow the old ways of firing the kilns. People from around the district come to us when they are starting a new project. We don't have a website or anything like that; we just rely on people knowing where we are in Bairampur. The workers here have been doing this for a long time, so they know exactly how to handle the raw material. Sometimes the rain catches us off guard and we have to rush to cover the unbaked bricks. It’s just the way it goes in this line of work. We aren't looking to become some massive industry. We just want to keep the kiln going and make sure the bricks are strong enough for the local homes. It’s a simple life out here at the post Bairampur site, focusing on the dirt and the fire. The days are long during the peak season but we always get things done.
