Baba Kashi Viswanath Farmer Producer Company Limited is situated in the Katwa area. You can find us at Shib Tala Chaulpatti, right where Biswanath Pal Chowdhury stays. It’s a busy part of Katwa-I, and we’re right in the middle of it. We are a small group of farmers who wanted to work together instead of competing. It’s mainly about the rice trade around here, given we’re near the chaulpatti. We spend a lot of time at Biswanath’s place going over the accounts and seeing how much we can sell. It’s not a fancy office. We have some chairs and a lot of ledgers. Most of the work happens outside, though. We’re always checking on the fields and talking to the laborers. The heat in the summer is no joke, but the work doesn't stop. We don't have any corporate slogans. We’re just trying to get a decent price for the grain we grow. It’s been a bit of a learning curve for us to manage a company. Sometimes we argue about the best way to do things. But at the end of the day, we’re all neighbors. We just want to make sure the farming stays viable for us. If you’re in Katwa, you’ll see us around. We’re just regular people trying to make a go of it.
