Deccan Scientific Instruments is tucked away at Plot No. 1/1 over in Tata Nagar. We’re near the Durga Nagar Chowrasta in Kattedan, which is always a bit of a mess with traffic. If you’re trying to find us, look for the Sy. No. 134 marking. This part of Hyderabad, in R. R. Dist-500 077, is mostly industrial, so there’s always a lot of dust and trucks going by. We spend our time working with all sorts of lab gear and scientific instruments. It’s precise work, which is funny because the warehouse itself is a bit cluttered. We’ve got shelves full of stuff that’s been there for years and new stock arriving every week. Telanagana State gets really hot in the summer, and the tin roof doesn’t help much, but we have some coolers that we keep running. It’s not a glamorous life, just making sure the scientific community gets what they need to do their experiments. Sometimes things get lost in the shuffle, or a shipment arrives a day late, but we eventually get it sorted out. We don’t have a big marketing team or anyone to write nice speeches for us. We just know our tools and we know how to get them to the right places. It’s a lot of checking lists and packing boxes carefully so nothing breaks on the bumpy roads around Kattedan. We have been doing this for a long time.
