Chithralaya Architects

Chithralaya Architects is located right near the Nedumkandam Panchayat School. It’s easy to hear the kids playing during their break time while we are working on drawings. We have been in Nedumkandam for quite some time now. The office is small but it has enough room for our tables and some old blueprints. We spend most of our hours looking at site plans and talking to folks about their building ideas. It isn't always quiet here, especially with the school so close, but we like the energy. Sometimes we go out to the sites to check how things are going. The roads around here can be a bit rough during the rains. We use simple tools and a couple of computers to get the work done. It’s mostly just sitting and figuring out where walls should go or how a roof should look. We don't try to be fancy architects like the ones in the big cities. We just do what people in Nedumkandam need for their homes or shops. People usually walk in because they saw our sign while dropping their kids off at the school. We have a few tea breaks during the day to keep us going. It is a steady rhythm of work and talk. We have some samples of materials lying around that people can touch and see. It is a very practical way to run things. We are just here doing our bit for the town and keeping the office open daily for the local people.
