Shriram Minerals

Our work takes us out to Village Manpur near the Niwar post office which is quite a different pace of life compared to the city. It is a lot quieter out here though we do make some noise ourselves when we are processing the minerals. The village life means you know your neighbors and you see the same faces every morning when you open up. We deal with raw materials coming straight from the ground so there is always a layer of dust on everything in the office. It’s hard to keep things clean when you are working with minerals all day but that’s just part of the job. We have a lot of space out here in Manpur and we use every bit of it for storage and sorting through the various grades of stone. Sometimes the weather affects our work especially if it gets too muddy for the trucks to move easily on the village roads. We just wait for it to dry out and then get back to it. It’s a very practical and hands-on kind of business where you see the results of your labor right in front of you. We don't have any big signs or fancy lighting just a functional gate and the work sheds. Most of the people working here are from the local area so it feels like a small community effort. We just keep our heads down and do the work. It takes time to get things right but we don't mind the effort.
