Sacha Food

Our place is at Plot Number 8 in Katni Purina Gao, which is just a short distance from the Udyog Ghiri area. We spend our days preparing different food items, so the whole building usually smells like spices or whatever is cooking that morning. It’s a bit of an industrial neighborhood, so there are always trucks moving around and people walking to work in the nearby factories. Our kitchen area is quite large, but it often feels small because of all the pots and ingredients we have lying around. We don't have a fancy storefront; it’s more of a workspace where the real work happens. The floors are washed down every evening, but by noon the next day, they are messy again. We have a few guys who help with the packing and making sure the boxes are taped up right for delivery. It’s often very hot inside, especially when all the burners are going at once. We take our breaks outside in the shade of the wall when we can get a minute. Dealing with the suppliers for flour and oil takes up a lot of time, and sometimes the prices change which makes things a bit difficult. We just keep going and try to get everything finished before the sun goes down. It’s a lot of physical labor, and our hands are always busy with something. Katni is a hardworking area and we fit right in with the rest of the shops here. We enjoy the work.
