Madhu General Stores

Our shop, Madhu General Stores, is right there on the Main Road in Bheraghat. If you know the area, you know where Dubey Hotel is, and we are just near that spot. It’s a busy part of Jabalpur because of the tourists coming to see the marble rocks, but for us, it’s just where we work every day. We open up early in the morning, usually when the air is still a bit cool. You can find almost anything basic here. We have snacks, some plastic buckets, notebooks for school kids, and the usual household things people run out of like tea leaves or salt. It isn't a fancy place with bright lights or anything like that. Just some old wooden shelves and a counter where we sit. Sometimes the road gets really dusty when the buses go by, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the jars and packets. People from the neighborhood stop by to talk for a bit or just grab a quick packet of biscuits. We don't have a big staff, just us and occasionally a family member helping out when things get a bit crowded in the evening. It’s a simple life running a store here in Bheraghat. We just try to keep the things people ask for most. If someone needs something specific, we see if we can get it the next time the supply truck comes around. That’s how it goes most days.
