Community Health Center

The Community Health Center here in Petlawad serves the whole Jhabua area, and it's usually a very busy place from the moment we open the doors. We get people coming in from all the nearby villages, some walking a long way and others coming on bikes or buses. It’s a government-style building, so it has that very practical, no-nonsense look to it with wide hallways and heavy doors. We deal with everything from basic checkups to small injuries that happen during farm work or daily life. It can get quite loud in the mornings when the lobby is full of people waiting their turn, and the kids are running around a bit. We don't have a lot of fancy decorations on the walls, just some old health posters and the usual notices. The staff is always moving, trying to keep up with the number of patients that show up every day. It’s a lot of responsibility, but we just take it as it comes. Sometimes we run low on certain supplies and have to wait for the next shipment to arrive from the main city. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s important for Petlawad because there aren't many other places for people to go. We just try to keep things organized and help as many people as we can before we close up for the evening.
