Sri Ganesh Chandra Foundation

We are located in Belwatola-Diggi Kathar, which is part of the Katihar block. Ganesh Chandra Parmanik is the person in charge of our little setup here. It is quite a walk from the main road, but that is just how it is in our part of the world. We don't have any big glass offices or expensive furniture. We just use a couple of rooms in a local house. The foundation was started because we saw people in the village needing a bit of support with their daily problems. We aren't big-city people with fancy degrees. We are just locals who grew up here and know the land. The air here smells like the fields, especially after it rains. We spend a lot of our time sitting on the floor or on small stools, talking to the farmers and their families. We don't have a big marketing budget, so you won't see our name on any billboards. We rely on people telling their friends about us. Sometimes the internet doesn't work for days, so we do all our records in big paper ledgers. It feels more real that way anyway. We don't have a set schedule. If someone knocks on the door at dinner time, we still talk to them. It’s not a corporate job; it’s just being part of the community in Katihar. We do what we can with what we have. It is mostly about the people we see every day.
