Postal Deptt

The office is located at Lal Kothi in Katihar. Most people in the area know the building well because it’s been there for a long time. Working at the Postal Deptt means we see a lot of different people every single day. Some are coming to send things far away, and others are just checking for mail. The building itself has that old feel to it, with thick walls and high ceilings. It’s not the fastest environment, but we try to keep things moving along. Katihar is a place where people still rely on these kinds of services quite a bit. We sit at our desks and handle the piles of papers and parcels that come in. It isn't a fancy job, but it is necessary for the town. The fans hum overhead and there is usually the sound of stamps hitting paper. We don't have a big mission statement or anything like that. We just come in, do the work, and go home. Sometimes the lines get long, especially around the holidays, and people have to wait their turn. We try to be fair and get through everyone who walks through the door. It’s a local spot where the community connects in its own way. We know the regular faces who show up every week. There isn't much to say beyond that. It’s just a regular government office doing its part in Katihar, and we are the ones who keep it running.
