Laxmi Store

Our little shop, Laxmi Store, is located right in the heart of Village & Post Office Kasba. If you know where the Rat Kohli Bhootnath Mandir is, then you have probably walked past our door many times because we are right near the temple. It is a quiet spot in the Purnia district most of the time, although it gets a bit more crowded on festival days or when people come for their prayers. We sell the basic things that people in the village need for their daily lives—rice, dal, cooking oil, and some snacks for the kids. The shelves in here are not always perfectly straight, and sometimes we run out of a particular brand of soap if the delivery truck is late, but we do our best for the neighbors. It is a family thing that we have kept going for many years now. We know just about everyone who walks through the door by their first name. It is nice to sit on the bench outside when it is not too hot and talk about the local news. The shop is small and the floor has a few cracks in it, but it serves the community well enough. We stay open from early in the morning until the sun goes down. We don't have any big neon signs, just the name painted on the front so people know where to go for their groceries.
